Children's Sunday School

We are celebrating our fall kick-off at our 9:45 Contemporary service on Sunday, September 11!

3rd grade will also receive their bibles

Abigail Helmick

Children's Ministry Director

Abby was raised in Chippewa and graduated from Blackhawk High School. She earned her bachelor's degree at Pitt and a master's degree from Slippery Rock. Abby met her husband Ben while in college and have been happily married for almost 5 years. Recently, Abby and Ben grew their family and welcomed their first daughter Eliana.

Outside of new mom responsibilities, Abby enjoys crafting and spending time outside. She is creative and excited to bring these skills to her new position. Abby currently volunteers on a wilderness search and rescue team. She also serves on the Executive Board of In The Light Ministries, a nonprofit working to provide care to orphans in Kenya.

Sunday School

The Children's Sunday School program for students in Preschool through fifth grade meets each week in Fellowship Hall at 9:30am.

If your children are unable to attend in person, a video lesson is available here, following the service on our livestream, and available on Facebook.

Chippers is a Christian Toddler Playgroup designed for children between the ages of 18 – 36 months accompanied by an adult caregiver. Activities include music, art and physical movement.

The Chippers Program meets once a week in monthly sessions, September through May. Sessions are theme based. Parents may register their children for a Tuesday or Thursday morning class, which run 10-11am in the Nursery rooms of the church. Parents are to park in the back lot of the church. Doors open at 9:50am.

Program fees are $25.00 per month.

Registration space is limited to nine children per class.

The Chippers Program provides the opportunity for children to explore God’s beautiful world through music, stories, art and play. Chippers monthly class activities will include playtime, Chirp & Chatter singing circle featuring new and traditional nursery songs and finger plays, Paw Prints intro to art, and Scurry Time with large motor skill activities. Each month a new book will be featured in the class that will follow a seasonal theme.

Safe Sanctuaries is our effort in providing a safe place for our congregation to gather, where children, youth and adults can experience God's love.

Anyone who is 18 and older working in any staff or volunteer capacity with children and youth at the church or para church ministry are required to complete our Sale Sanctuary Training and obtain federal and state clearances.
