Safe Sanctuary
Safe Sanctuaries is our effort in providing a safe place for our congregation to gather, where children, youth and adults can experience God's love.
All church staff or anyone who is 18 and older working in any volunteer capacity with children and youth at the church or para church ministry are required to complete our Sale Sanctuary Training and obtain federal and state clearances before beginning staff and volunteer work.
In order to complete all of our Safe Sanctuary requirements, you must review our Safe Sanctuary Policy, submit and pass the accompanying Safe Sanctuary Quiz, sign and submit our "Safe Sanctuaries Participation Covenant Statement," and obtain the following clearances:

Federal Criminal History clearance from the FBI*
(If you are staff or have not lived in Pennsylvania for the last 10 years)

PA Criminal History clearance from the Pennsylvania State Police

PA Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human Services
*Obtaining FBI clearances requires a pre-registration via phone or online through the link above. Using the ling above requires one of the following Service Codes:

Safe Sanctuary Quiz
To show that you have read through the Safe Sanctuary Policy and understand how to implement this policy in the scope of your ministry with us at Chippewa United Methodist Church, we require that you take the quiz linked in the button below. You must obtain a passing score. The results of your quiz will be sent to our Safe Sanctuary Coordinator to add to your volunteer file.
