and the people all tried to touch him, because power was coming from him and healing them all.
First, let me encourage you to read the passage that this verse comes from. Now, let’s talk about power. Do you remember when you were little or when your kids were little? Do you remember what happened when you ended up playing a little too rough or slipped while running and you scraped your knee? You weren’t bleeding terribly and you didn’t need stitches but it sure did sting. Maybe you came inside calling for your mom and she sat you down and cleaned off the scrape. And I don’t know about your mom but my mom would blow on it just a little bit. There was power in that breath. Power that allowed me to take a deep breath and relax a bit. Yes, my knee still hurt but I knew I would survive. I believed it was because of the power and healing that came from my mom. It’s a simple illustration, I know. Yet that is how God helps us understand that healing power is ours through Jesus Christ. While we may or may not experience full, complete, total healing in an instant the power coming from Jesus Christ heals us one scrape at a time.
