Healing

James 5:13-15

Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.

When was the last time you prayed with someone who was sick? We talk about prayer sometimes as if it’s something that is too difficult for us as individuals and we don’t feel comfortable to pray in front of others. There is a level of connection that happens when we pray for another in the time of their need. While we might feel uncomfortable as we start we will be grateful once we’ve done it. It helps us connect with one another and with God. And God hears our prayers. Think even now if there is someone you can be praying with. And the next time you feel prompted by the Spirit to pray with someone, follow that nudge, take the leap, and pray right then and there.
