Joseph’s Angel – Rev. Gary Hilton – Matthew 1:18-25

After Joseph discovered Mary was pregnant and had decided to divorce her quietly so as to not disgrace her publicly, an angel of the Lord appeared to him with a message. He said to not be afraid to take Mary as his wife, for what she says is true. He tells Joseph that the baby will be named Jesus and that He will save His people from their sins. This is exactly what angels do, they bring messages of peace and hope, and instructions from God. Joseph was visited by an angel a few more times as Jesus was growing up. Angel visitations are not just a part of stories from the Bible, people continue to experience God’s heavenly servants each day. Thanks be to God for His angels, who come on His behalf to bring peace and hope, instruction and healing. Amen
