Broken Cisterns – Rev. Tai Courtemanche – Jeremiah 2_4-13

You know the saying about best laid plans… God equates them to broken cisterns. Speaking through the prophet Jeremiah, God accuses his people of two sins; they have rejected Him and chose to for themselves broken cisterns. Translation, God’s people abandoned Him for false idols and established a “back up plan” for a since of security as opposed to trusting God who has proven himself time and time again. Trusting in God’s care seems to be the one thing His people continuously struggle with, even with us today. This level of trust isn’t necessarily easy, but it is a core part of being a disciple of Christ.
