We have organized mission collections through out the year. Some
of these are local missions and some are international. We have
supported these organizations or individuals because we believe
that we need to do God’s work next door and across the world.

Kiducation:
In February of 2006, we started a new mission with the
Kiducation,
non-profit
organization, by placing two bins in our parking lot. They turn
donated clothing and shoes into funds for libraries and school. The
donated shoes and clothing are given to 40 organizations in need.
Other items from the bin are offered to Christian and non-profits
that may be in need.
We ask that you take part in this ministry by dropping
off your used clothing and shoes, etc. to the bins in our parking
lot across from the church. This bin is open to the public as well
as our own church members. By this small gesture, you are not only
helping others in need, but our church as well.
If you have questions, contact
the church office.
Food Bank Mission:
Food
Bank Sunday is a local church mission that was started in January
2004 at CUMC. There was a need to supply the local community with
food and provisions due to the rate of unemployment and need in the
surrounding communities. CAST, which stands for (Churches Are
Serving Together) distributes the food to people truly in need of
our services. Mary Verbe, at CAST, assesses every person/family
that approaches them for help. After an in depth review, they are
accepted to receive help if it is needed. There are baskets in the
Narthex, under the bulletin board, where food can be placed. Each
month, items are dropped off at CAST for distribution to local
families. Look in the newsletter and the bulletin for the item of
the month and the kid’s item of the month. We do try to make sure
that the children are never forgotten. We ask for a fun item for
the kids, monthly. In the past, we have had juice boxes, fruit roll
ups, cookies, etc. It is just a way to brighten a kid’s day with
something special…just for them. …Contact the church
office if you would like to help in some way or call (724)
