Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John.
That’s right, Jesus came to be baptized. Jesus, the very son of God, fully God and fully man. We don’t think Jesus needs anything from us. We know that Jesus was without sin. He had no need for forgiveness. But this was used as an opportunity for God to acknowledge Jesus as son and for God’s glory to be revealed. This was one of the ways God chose to reveal to us how God the Father and God the Son were connected and the significance of the actions and words of Jesus.
